Half the weight, twice as robust – the new Skinlight ski tour skins are without a doubt one of the most significant developments in this area over the past few years. Due to its unique design the weight can be reduced by 15-20% in comparison with usual skins. Also, the skin base can be stuck directly to the synthetic back so the skin does not wear out as quickly. This new construction method also has the advantage that the skin can be cut to fit simply and quickly, without the border getting frayed. In contrast to other known skins, the lengthy and tiresome sealing of the edge is therefore not required. The 100mm wide skinlight ski tour skin on rolls can effortlessly and speedily be tailored to every size. The 65 and 68mm skins in lengths of 160, 170 and 180cm are suitable for a speedy ascent on the ski slopes, when each gram counts. Because of the low volume and weight this skin is also recommended as an extra skin to be kept by guides in the rucksack for special cases, e.g. when due to temperature differences between a valley and mountain accumulation of ice on the skins becomes a problem. A pair complete with front clip (65mm wide, 160cm long) weighs 190 grams.
