Powertex®
Powertex fabric is highly breathable, wind-and-waterproof, water repellent and durable; it is also light, soft and has a comfortable feel for the wearer, and with all these features,
offers an excellent price/quality ratio. During aerobic activities, the Powertex membrane draws away from the body the moisture that is generated and evacuates it, distributing it
on the fabric surface, reducing internal condensation and making the speed of the evaporation a lot faster; at the same time it prevents outside water to penetrate, therefore keeping
the wearer warm, dry and comfortable.

GORE-TEX® fabrics lead the industry of technical clothing in the provision of waterproof protection, breathability and durability.
The GORE-TEX® membrane is completely water,
sleet and at the same time allows for perspiration to pass through it: it is formed by pores which are 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times larger than a molecule
of water vapor and therefore, water can’t get in, but perspiration can get out. Its durability has been tested and asserted reproducing the most extreme weather conditions in
laboratories.

Care tips for hardshells / weather protection jackets
The function and durability of each hardshell (weather protection jacket) is
also dependent upon the correct care. The following points should be noted:
- Don’t fail to heed the care instructions, which are sewn into each
SALEWA rain jacket.
- Remove heavy soiling under running water.
- SALEWA rain jackets can be washed in the fine wash cycle at 30 or 40
degrees.
- Only wash the products with liquid washing detergent or special washing
detergent (e.g. Granger's).
- Never use a softener.
- To prevent the residue of washing detergent, the rinse cycle should be
allowed to run twice.
- Never cram the washing machine full.
- Prior to washing, close all zips and Velcro fasteners, and pull the
hoods of jackets out of the collars.
- Allow the jacket to dry on a coat hanger in warm place. Avoid direct
sunlight.
- If necessary, only iron the jacket at a low temperature.
- Impregnate the textiles from time to time with a special care product (e.g.
Granger's). This not only improves the beading effect during downpours, but
also enables an optimal transportation of perspiration from the inside to
the outside.
