Our rucksacks are:
-
Extremely light
Anything that is light is easier to carry, and for a longerperiod of time. Achieving maximum weight reduction through better construction solutions and choice of materials is the focal point of our development process. Carbon-reinforced Y-frames save weight because the material is extremely light and less of it is needed for the same degree of stability comparing to aluminum struts. Other weight savings are achieved through the use of light fabrics and the meticulous choice of buckles, straps and accessories.

Optimum load distribution
From a volume of 50 litres, SALEWA rucksacks are fitted with the Multifit system, by which the length of the rucksack can be individually adjusted. If the load’s centre of gravity is in the correct place, then heavier loads can be comfortably carried on longer distances. The decisive factor is that the carrying system can be adjusted to suit your individual body shape and the correct positioning of stabilisers. Just look at the new height-adjustable shoulder straps of our Multifit system. Of course that also applies to the aluminum and carbon struts as well as the lateral stabilisers. In addition the pack’s position must be correct both vertically and horizontally.

Perfectly ventilated
Sweating cools the body through the dampening effect of perspiration, at least in theory. When carrying a conventional rucksack that simple principle does apply, because the sweat cannot evaporate as there is a lack of ventilation. At each pit-stop a wet back threatens to cool the body and you freeze. We have therefore developed three different carrying systemswhich can remove sweat through optimized ventilation, thus preventing wet backs. According to size and purpose our rucksacks are equipped with the AIRMAT, AIRSTREAM and AIRSPACE systems.
